The author of the Titus 2 Study Guide and Leader's Manual has updated and expanded the five sessions to provide a deeper consideration of God's Word for today's woman.

Why are Titus 2 Retreats of value?  Linda was nudged to start Titus 2 after years of trying to help Lutherans understand the deception of abortion.  The speaker became the listener.  She heard countless stories of Lutheran women who had been deceived but, after their abortion, fell into despair.  These women taught Linda that many other choices are made before the abortion choice.  For this reason, a Titus 2 Retreat begins at the beginning: God's Word to us in Genesis.  The Retreat encourages women to trust their identity as God's beloved creation, contrast the world with The Word, and bring hope to an immoral culture.

It has been said that a Biblical woman is praised whenever she is not deceived.  We have all doubted... we have all been deceived.  We have been deceived by "Genesis is just a myth," "equal means being the same," "education in sex," "motherhood/fatherhood is not a vocation," "men are idiots," and "children are a burden."  But, there is hope!  A woman who trusts God is a new person in Christ!  She can expose the darkness with Light!  She helps men, loves children, and encourages all toward a future of hope.

LIFE & LIBERTY:
LIVING IN TWO KINGDOMS

Saturday, September 11
Immanuel Lutheran Church in Iowa Falls
(Washington Avenue at the corner of Lee Lane)
4:30 p.m.

Barbeque & Salad Bar for a "free will" offering
(Please call Amy at (641) 648-2792 or the church at (641) 648-3756 if you're bringing a group.)

Marriage, religious freedom, and life itself are under attack. What does this mean... and how are we to respond?

Join us and guest speaker Bob Morrison to consider how Christians can:
  • Defend life and liberty,
  • Be a servant in two kingdoms, and
  • Honor God the Creator and Redeemer of life.

God's Word says that we should give evidence of our heavenly citizenship by being good citizens on earth (Matt. 5:16).  Bob Morrison will help us answer such questions as:
  • Do we have responsibility and opportunity to speak and act as a moral compass for society?  What does this mean?
  • Upon what did the Founding Fathers build our U.S. Constitution... and why?  What does this mean?
  • "Separation of church and state."  What does this mean?
  • "Faith-based social justice."  What does this mean?

Legalized death and re-defintion of marriage do not build a future of hope.  We are called by God's Word to build a future of hope as parents, grandparents, pastors, teachers, and good citizens.

ABOUT BOB MORRISON: Bob is Senior Fellow for Policy Studies at the Family Research Council in Washington, D.C.  He is the former director of the LC-MS Office of Government Information in Washington.  Previous to that, he served at the U.S. Department of Education under then-secretary Bill Bennett in the Reagan Administration.  Bob has degrees in government and foreign affairs, taught history and political science at the high school and college levels, and served his country in the U.S. Coast Guard.  He is a published author and led the historical research for Bill Bennett's book America: The Last Best Hope.  Bob and his wife, Kate (retired US Navy), are blessed with two children and a grandchild.  Bob is a historian, teacher, and citizen of two kingdoms.

Sponsored by LFL of Iowa and Immanuel Lutheran.

LFL of IOWA CONFERENCE
Sunday, September 12
St. Paul Lutheran Church, Ankeny
1100 Southeast Sharon Dr.
2:00 p.m. concluding with light lunch

"LIFE & LIBERTY:
LIVING IN TWO KINGDOMS"

Guest Speaker: Bob Morrison

Bob will entertain questions and lead us in a time of vigorous discussion.  While we appear to be living in the "terrible times" described in 2 Timothy, we commend all things to God with hope in our Savior Jesus Christ.  While we wait for Christ to come again, we strive to live in a way that glorifies Him.  We are called to make use of the Word of Life in all situations and in our vocation as Christian citizens.

(See above description of September 11 event in Iowa Falls for more details on topic and speaker.)

Bob Morrison is a student of history who knows how to apply what has happened to present day.  He has a particular appreciation for America's Founding Fathers.  Bob is a humble and approachable man.  You will leave challenged and better equipped for the battle of worldviews in which we find ourselves.
