God created human beings to be equal, but different as male and female. He created man and woman in a different ways, at different times, and for different purposes (Genesis 2:7, 16-18, 22).
God created and defined the institution of marriage. He designed the act of sex for one man and one woman in the faithfulness of marriage. Only God can create life, but what a gracious God He is to allow husband and wife to partner with Him in this procreational act.
God's Word, in both Old and New Testaments, speaks clearly about saving sexual intimacy for marriage. He calls us to holy living (1 Thess. 4:3-7) and to remember we were bought at great price (1 Cor. 6:18-20).
Marriage, childbirth, and growth of the human community were a part of God's plan for humankind from before the Fall (Genesis 1:28).
God defines marriage as the union of one man and one woman. Husband and wife, together with God, procreate to bring new life into the world. God's design of father and mother brings stability to a family and role models for sons and daughters. Society and generations to come benefit.
"Forsaking all others" is not a common practice within same-sex "marriages." Dan Savage, an advice columnist and "married" homosexual, admits that he doesn't believe in monogamy. It is "unrealistic." He admits to nine "extramarital encounters." In contrast are statistics showing that 86% of married women and 80% of married men keep their traditional marriage vow.
Pushing for same-sex "marriage" in states across the country is no more than sexual liberalism. It is rejecting the design and boundaries of God and telling people to "do what is right in their own eyes." What are the consequences in Romans 1:18-32?
Christians who are faithful to God's Word may be labeled "ignorant," "intolerant," and even "bigoted." We may not be considered "sophisticated." But, God's plan for marriage and the family brings life and a future of hope. Visit Breakpoint.org
When a hometown newspaper features the "marriage" of two homosexual men, how should a pro-life, Biblical Christian respond? First, we must not do harm with insensitive words. Second, and better than arguing or withdrawing into silence, we are compelled to ask questions that help us all think.
In light of God's Word:
Jesus reached out to those caught in sinful behaviors that could not please God. It grieved Him to see anyone separated from their Creator. So, with amazing love, He became the only necessary sacrifice to reconcile sinful people to the Holy god. We ponder His death on Good Friday. Then, on Easter, we rejoice in His resurrection and victory over sin, death, and the power of the devil.
We cannot fly in the face of the Holy God who created men, women, and marriage without suffering consequences. But, there is abundant mercy and hope from God in Jesus Christ who says to us, "I do no condemn you; go, and sin no more" (John 8:11). God's Word in Psalm 51:17 says, "A broken and contrite heart, these O God, You will not despise."
There are those who say that abortion is better than giving birth to children who will be abused, exploited, or sold into slavery. Before we examine the abuse of children, let's bear in mind that legalized abortion -- the ultimate child abuse -- sets a precedent. If we do not value the child "knit together" by God in the womb (Psalm 139) who is "redeemed" and "called by name" (Isaiah 43:1), then why should we be surprised to read the following statistics:
What does Jesus say? Let the children come to Me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God (Mark 10:14). How does abortion hinder a child from coming to Jesus? How might sexual abuse hinder a child from coming to Jesus?
Cyndi Faust and her husband were told she would never be able to carry a baby past the first trimester. They were thrilled, however, when after many years of trying, she became pregnant. At the end of her first trimester, Cyndi's doctor told her that she was carrying twins. Two girls were born healthy and happy following months of preparation, excitement, angst and ten weeks of bed rest. But, shortly after delivery, Cyndi realized something wasn't right. she was hemorrhaging. An incredible fight for her life began.
After 27 hours, four surgeries, and 22 units of blood and platelets, Cyndi was still alive and finally stable. She lost nearly three times the amount of blood that was supposed to be in her body, which was replaced by donated blood from volunteer blood donors. Cyndi is extremely grateful for everyone who takes time to make life-saving blood donations. The American delegation to a recent United Nation's panel on marriage, family and community tried to persuade other countries to adopt a more "comprehensive" approach to development and population. They emphasized "family planning" and access to abortion.
But, the foreigners weren't buying it. The representative from St. Lucia asked, "How do we get our fertility rate to rise? We were told we needed to reduce our fertility rate - [but] now we have an aging population." St. Lucia is not alone. After 40 years of population control propaganda and coercion, all of the industrialized and much of the developing world has below-replacement level fertility rates and aging populations, which in turn threaten economic development.
Citizens of Kenya have for some time resisted population control, legalized abortion, and the efforts of Planned Parenthood. Children, they say, are a nation's greatest natural resource. To learn more, you may visit The Population Research Institute.

For by grace we have
been saved through faith.
This is not our own doing;
it is the gift of God,
not a result of works,
so that no one may boast.
For we are His workmanship,
created in Christ Jesus
for good works,
which God prepared
beforehand, that we
should walk in them.
