I set before you life and death,
blessings and curses.
Now choose life . . .
God is the Creator of All Life

GENESIS 1 -- In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth . . .

JOB 38 -- Where were you when I laid the earth's foundation?

ACTS 17:24-25 -- The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by hands.  And He is not served by human hands, as if He needed anything, because He Himself gives all men life and breath and everything else.

God is the Creator of the Pre-born Child

PSALM 139:13-16 -- For You created my inmost being; You knit me together in my  mother's womb.  I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Your works are wonderful, I know that full well.  My frame was not hidden from You when I was made in the secret place.  When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, Your eyes saw my unformed body.  All the days ordained for me were written in Your book before one of them came to be.

ECCLESIASTES 11:5 -- As you do not know the path of the wind, or how the body is formed in a mother's womb, so you cannot understand the work of God, the Maker of all things.

ISAIAH 44:24 -- This is what the Lord says -- Your Redeemer, who formed you in the womb: I am the Lord, who has made all things, who alone stretched out the heavens, who spread out the earth by Myself . . .

JEREMIAH 1:5 -- Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.

LUKE 1:41-44 --  When Elizabeth heard Mary's greeting, the baby leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit.  In a loud voice she exclaimed: "Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the child you will bear!  But why am I so favored, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?  As soon as the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the baby in my womb leaped for joy.

Jesus Loves the Little Children

PSALM 127:3 --  Children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward.

ISAIAH 40:11 -- He tends His flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in His arms and carries them close to His heart; He gently leads those that have young.

MARK 9:36-37 -- He took a little child and had him stand among them.  Taking him in His arms, He said to them, "Whoever welcomes one of these little children in My name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes Me does not welcome Me but the one who sent Me.

MARK 10:13-16 -- People were bringing little children to Jesus to have Him touch them, bu the disciples rebuked them.  When Jesus saw this, He was indignant.  He said to them, "Let the little children come to Me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.  I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.  And He took the children in His arms, put His hands on them and blessed them.

God Does Not Justify Abortion or "Mercy Killing" in Cases of Rape, Incest, or Birth Defects

DEUTERONOMY 24:16 --  Fathers shall not be put to death for their children, nor children put to death for their fathers; each is to die for his own sin.

ISAIAH 45:9-11 (ESV) -- Woe to him who strives with him who formed him, a pot among earthen pots!  Does the clay say to him who forms it, 'What are you making?' or 'Your work has no handles'?  Woe to him who says to a father, 'What are you begetting?' or to a woman, 'With what are you in labor?'" Thus says the Lord, the Holy One of Israel, and the one who formed him: "Ask me of things to come; will you command Me concerning My children and the work of My hands?"

GALATIANS 6:2 -- Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.

Life and Death Belong to God

GENESIS 9:6 -- Whoever sheds the blood of man, by man shall his blood be shed; for in the image of God has God made man.

EXODUS 20:13 -- You shall not murder.

PSALM 31:15 -- My times are in Your hands; deliver me from my enemies and from those who pursue me.

PROVERBS 6:16-17 -- There are six things the Lord hates, seven that are detestable to Him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, a false witness who pours out lies, and a man who stirs up dissension among brothers.

We Cannot Practice or Ignore Injustice

PROVERBS 24:11-12 -- Rescue those being led away to death; hold back those staggering toward slaughter.  If you say, "But we knew nothing about this," does not He who weighs the heart perceive it?  Does not He who guards your life know it?  Will He not repay each person according to what he has done?

Obey God Rather Than Man

2 CHRONICLES 7:14 -- If My people, who are called by My  name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

ACTS 4:18-20 -- Then they called them in again and commanded them not to speak or teach at all in the name of Jesus.  But Peter and John replied, "Judge for yourselves whether it is right in God's sight to obey you rather than God.  For we cannot help sepaking about what we have seen and heard."

1 CORINTHIANS 6:19-20 -- Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God?  You are not your own; you were bought at a price.  Therefore, honor God with your body.

There Is Hope and Healing for Wrong Choices

PSALM 32:3-5 -- When I kept silent, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long.  For day and night Your hand was heavy upon me; my strength was sapped as in the heat of summer.  Then I acknowledged my sin to You and did not cover my iniquity.  I said, "I will confess my transgressions to the Lord" -- and You forgave the guilt of my sin.

PSALM 147:3 -- He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.

JEREMIAH 29:11 -- For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

JOHN 8:10-11 -- Jesus straightened up and asked her, "Woman, where are they?  Has no one condemned you?"  "No one, sir," she said.  "Then neither do I condem you," Jesus declared.  "Go now and leave your life of sin."

1 JOHN 1:9 -- If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

We Are in God's Hands -- Even in Suffering and Death

PSALM 23:4 -- Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.

PSALM 31:15a -- My times are in Your hand.

ECCLESIASTES 3:1-2b -- There is a time for everything . . . a time to be born and a time to die . . .

ISAIAH 46:4 -- Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he, I am He who will sustain you.  I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you.
